Environmental Impact

We're working to eliminate plastic waste on campus.

Did you know that it takes about 7 liters of water to make a 1 liter bottle of water? Additionally, landfills receive close to 27 million tons of plastic each year, and a whopping 91 percent of plastic isn’t recycled. A lot of plastic ends up in the ocean as well, causing major damage to marine life.

By signing up for Hydrodore, you are taking the first step toward reducing your plastic bottle usage and helping the environment! If we all do our part to be better, we can make a real difference. So, join us on our mission as we strive to make Vanderbilt’s campus more environmentally friendly!

If you're looking to make an impact in Nashville, please consider making a donation to the Nashville Clean Water Project.

They have spent over $1 million since 2008 for their work in cleaning up the endangered watersheds in our region. Click the button below to head to their donation page. The project is dedicated to inspiring public stewardship, volunteerism, education and support of clean water concerns in ways that preserve, protect and enhance local rivers, streams, creeks and lakes and adjacent lands in the watershed.
